The Honor Foundation Group 5 Graduation Celebration
Elite employees had the distinct pleasure of attending The Honor Foundation Group 5 Graduation Celebration on December 16, 2015 in San Diego, CA.
The Honor Foundation, www.thehonorfoundation.org, is the first transition institute established for the US Special Operations Forces (SOF) community. Their unique program, led by Founder, CEO, and veteran, Joe Musselman, educates retired SOF in preparation for joining the civilian workforce. The 100 hours of curriculum includes areas such as self-assessment to determine specific goals, training on the necessary tools to succeed in their chosen fields, resume writing, using LinkedIn, executive education, networking, and the importance of emotional intelligence in career success.
In late 2015, Phil Dixon connected with Joe and his team in the hopes of creating a partnership to employ veterans. It was apparent early on in the meeting that the mission of The Honor Foundation and Core Values of Elite were aligned and that the potential pool of talent available among their graduates would be of great benefit to the Elite team and any company looking for driven candidates.<
The Graduation ceremony included speeches from The Honor Foundation staff, the chosen Honor Man and Valedictorian from the graduating class, and Commencement speaker Rear Admiral Gary Bonelli, a veteran of the US Navy, and the presentation of the thirty-two Group 5 graduates. EVI was incredibly impressed with the overall feeling of commitment to the process from all parties and sense of family created by this program. Each graduate was announced with an often humorous personal anecdote, which was a nice personal touch, and any career plans already set in motion.
A networking reception followed the graduation ceremony and was a great opportunity to meet with the graduates and other companies partnering with The Honor Foundation. Stephanie noted, “The Honor Foundation team have an evident joy for the work that they do and respect for the veterans they work with. It was an honor to be a part of this event, and I hope to be able to attend many more.”
A huge thank you to Joe Musselman and Phillip Dana for the invitation and continued support of EVI.
