2015 Holiday Adopt-a-Family Project
The Elite Veteran’s Initiative Adopt-a-Family program worked with Spirit of Sharing, www.spiritofsharing.org, in La Jolla, California to adopt two military families in need over the 2015 Christmas holiday. Elite employees donated toys, clothing, and gift cards and made monetary donations that exceeded the expectations of the project for the two families. The team at Spirit of Sharing was able to allocate the extra funds from the over $2000 worth of donations toward restocking their warehouse and purchasing commissary gift cards for military families in the area. The Elite team received thank you cards from their adopted families and were able to see the joy they brought to the children’s faces in photos of them opening gifts Christmas morning.
Director of Charitable Works shopped for the families and dropped the donations off at the Spirit of Sharing headquarters, “My cart was overflowing, and the amount of items I was able to purchase backed up the checkout line. I am so proud of what the Elite team was able to accomplish and honored to visit the Spirit of Sharing office. Rachel and her team are passionate about the work they do and the families they serve and are a pleasure to work with. Not wanting to turn anyone away, they had a stack of boxes to ship to families across the country and a warehouse full of toys and clothing for children of various ages and household items for adults.”
Spirit of Sharing keeps their warehouse stocked throughout the year for military families in need. If you are a member of a military family or would like to donate, visit www.spiritofsharing.org for more information.
Thank you to the entire Elite team for your generous donations and support of this worthy cause!
